William A. Guthridge Jr., founder of Sir William Hair Design, began cutting hair at the precocious age of 13. His interest in the hair world stemmed from his grandmother and uncle who were a hair stylist and barber, respectively. He credits them with passing down this natural gift, but he knew he’d still have to work hard to carefully hone his skills. Born and raised in New Jersey, William graduated from Smith’s Institute of Cosmetology with the honor of Top Male in Vocational & Technical School.
